When Hank's family goes camping to help him write a poem about nature, a rainstorm threatens to ruin their night and it is up to Hank to make sure the night does not turn into a soggy, foggy failure.

"With Halloween approaching, Hank and his friends decide to watch a scary movie to get ready for the holiday. When a well-known author visits their school, Hank and his two best friends get the chance to be her guide for the day and introduce her at an assembly, but the situation forces Hank to find creative ways to hide his struggles with reading.

Hank's cousin Judith Ann is an excellent cook, and does not let Hank forget it, but when Hank enters a cooking competition with her he finds out that she has trouble in school, just like Hank.

Hank enters a robot-building contest at school and hopes to win a trophy, despite getting a late start, with help of Frankie, Ashley, and Jaden, a new friend and robot expert.
