Description
Description
During a dark week in 1927, a man is killed under strange circumstances and his body appears in an alley in Paris. The discovery poses a chilling mystery: in addition to the odd color of the victim's skin, on his neck is a wound that cannot be attributed to any known weapon or predator. The case is assigned to the Night Brigade, a division of the French police specialized in impossible-to-solve crimes. Among the detectives is young Pierre Le Noir, who has a curious network of informants in the neighborhood, through which he meets a beautiful woman with dark motives for her interest in the body. After meeting her, he understands that the case involves magic and hypnosis, illegal immigrants and respectable millionaires. Above all, he learns that if he wants to catch the culprit, he must infiltrate surrealists and Dadaists, two explosive groups of artists who are always in trouble with the authorities, and who hang out with the likes of André Breton, Tristan Tzara, and Man Ray: they are all suspects, and they all have something to hide.
