Angry with France, he joined the Communists of Viet Minh and became one of their agents operting under the name of Thai ("Jew"). But disillusionment will not long. He had multiple Aliases. "Un vieil homme s'en retourne au Vietnam, son pays natal, afin de comprendre les drames de son histoire familiale et personnelle. Né en 1927 d'une mère de petite noblesse et d'un père juif médecin, tous deux français, il connaît une enfance heureuse. Puis la Seconde Guerre mondiale vient tout briser. En 1943, ses parents sont brutalisés par des vichystes antisémites sous ses yeux et ceux de son petit frère, qui ne survit pas àce traumatisme. Orphelin - ses parents se laissent mourir -, en colère contre la France, il rejoint les communistes du Viêt minh et devient agent de leurs basses oeuvres sous le nom de Do Thai (± juif »).
