Description
A journalism professor who suffered a tumor the size of an orange in his abdomen discovers he had spent his life marinating in toxic substances. He then resolved to discover the truth about chemicals and the 'healthy' levels of exposure we encounter each day as Americans. The result is this book, in which Jenkins writes that though toxins may be present in products we use every day--from ant spray, perfume, and grass seed to shower curtains and yes, baby shampoo, there are ways to lessen our exposure (From back cover).
